What vaccinations are recommended for my 2 year old pug?
I am taking her for her yearly vaccinations tomorrow at a new vet and they asked me what vaccines I want for her. I sometimes take her to dog parks and she plays with other dogs in the neighborhood. I am not sure what vaccinations she received last year besides rabies. What would be recommended for her aside from the rabies shot that she will definitely get??

The best ones would be the rabies shot and the parvo combination shot..Those two are the most important.. They will discuss if you want other ones..
The vet/vet tech will have a record of the shots your dog got last year on file there. It really depends on the laws in the area you live in. Some places allow a 3 year rabies shot of you live in the county, however, if you live in the city limits, you have to get the rabies every year. It also depends on where you live if you get a DHPP, or DHLPP or some kind of shot like that. You could call around to the vets in your area and ask what they suggest, and then research it from there. You are lucky, most vets try to bully you into shots you don’t need.
Here’s the latest recommended vaccination schedule from one of the top researchers in the country.

Rabies should be done every 2 or 3 years depending on the vet. However, the first Rabies shot is only good for 1 year.
Your vet also should have also told you to get a distemper vaccination. That should be done every 2 or 3 years ….again it depends on the vet and the first shot is only good for 1 year.
Bordatella is really not necessary unless you plan to have your dog around other dogs or at a kennel, dog park etc…. However, it is a VERY good idea to get it to prevent kennel cough. Besides if an emergency occurs and you need to board your dog on short notice you will already have it done. It should only cost you around $20 unless you get it at a clinic (shots are much cheaper at clinics) and it is only good for a year no matter how old the dog. The first time it will be intra-nasal (squirted up the nose) then after that it will be a shot.
I strongly recommend all three. Also depending on where you live you should get your pup heart worm tested then on a preventative.
Lyme, Giardia if around an area where ticks are common, and if you and your dog are outside often.
