Major Medical means just that, any major medical problems.
Medical coverage usually consists of anything medical.
You have to read the companies coverage policy to see what is included/excluded.Every policy will be different.
Major medical, usually means a high deductible medical coverage plan. So that the "little" stuff isn’t covered – little stuff being defined as stuff under $10,000.
So, if you break a finger, with $2,000 of bills – not covered. If you need open heart surgery, $100,000 of bills, they pay the $90,000.
Major medical is a type of medical coverage. It has NOTHING to do with the size of the deductible. A hospital/surgical plan, a ppo, an HMO, an indemnity plan (which is usually major medical) are all types of medical coverage as well….
