You must make your flower beds INSECT FREE (that is Grubs-snails) that’s because thats what Moles & gophers eat. Kill the insects and you’ll love the insect eaters.
The best home remedy I have is using a garden spade and try stabbing the little critter. We’ve had many times had moles ruin our yard and make tunnels and dig up piles of dirt. We’ve tried traps and baits too. A mole actually ate 3 inches of our water hose when we stuck it into the ground hole once. We filled the hole up with water and when we pulled the hose out the sprinkler and top of the hose were eaten off. So as angry as those pests can make a person I took the garden spade and just started stabbing into the tunnels and finally hit something that didn’t feel like dirt. I never checked to see. I stepped down on all the tunnels and the yard became flat and never had another pile of dirt or tunnel since then. But that is my new weapon of choice for moles. Because it works for me.
use Dark Chocolate Hersey Kisses! they love it and its lethal to them! But if you have cats and dogs, bury it in the holes or tunnels that you find around your yard!
Are you sure they are moles? Moles prefer lawn turf since that is where most of the worms, insects and grubs are. That is all they eat. Gophers will dig in flower and vegetable beds because they eat plants and roots. Whether you have moles or gophers, trapping them is the only way to keep them out of any garden or lawn. All of the home remedies and advertised gimmicks work for a short time at best, not at all at worst.
