Some tests are done through blood. Recently they have been offering a test where they collect cells from your mouth. It is painless and easy to do.
Simple taking of blood. They’ll tag it, test it and determine if HIV is present. You’ll probably get a phone number to call within a few days to get the results privately.
just like any other blood test. They put a tourniquet around your arm, insert a needle syringe and withdraw some blood.
Oh brother! Are you a total moron or what? It’s a simple blood test.
thay take blood
they take blood and check it for hiv antibodies.
My husband was tested before we met (for more than just hiv I think) and he said they put a long q-tip like thing inside his penis.
they can take blood and they can take a swab of your mouth.
CapNIdiot is the first answer and absolutely wrong. There is no test for the HIV virus.
The test is for antibodies which are alleged to be specific to HIV, however, like most things in life there are no absolutes and over 70 different conditions can cause a false positive on the tests.
The Elisa has a greater false positive result and must be confirmed by a Western Blot. Nevertheless, they dont tell you about the other conditions. Additionally, diagnosis of a postive result varies practically country to country. You may be positive in Ivory Coast, but not here. Or pos in USA but not England.
There is no standard.
all depends where you go they have two test now one is the old way they draw your blood and send it to a lab it takes 1-2 weeks for the results and when you go get them they ask you a million and one questions before they give you the results the second test is alot faster takes about 5-10 mins it is taken orally and it looks like a pregnancy test with out the urine they ask you the same questions before they give you the results
