What cold medicine will help the most for post nasal drip, sinus infection and stuffy nose?

I have a sinus problem and its making me hae thick green-yellow mucus that runs down my throat. Since its thick it doesnt run down my nose but I can feel it in there and when I blow it out there is alot of it. What medicine is the best for this?

I have found the zicam oral spray works on the root of the problem, because it limits the growth of the virus causing your problems. When I use zicam, the symptoms decrease as does the duration of the cold.
sulfa based meds from the doc helped me with sinus infections. try Dayquil for symptoms. flushing the sinus can relieve pressure.
As a chronic sinus sufferer, when I get a "flare-up" I rely heavily on a decongestant and expectorant. Some brands to try are Mucinex and Sudafed. In most states, the Sudafed is behind the pharmacy counter, so you will have to go and ask a pharmacist for it. I use the 12 hour formula, but if you are not used to taking it, it could make you shaky and "wired" so you may need to take a smaller dose. The pharmacist should be able to help you. I take the Sudafed and Mucinex together every 12 hours until I no longer feel the drainage or congestion, usually about 5 days.
You may also benefit from plain old saline nasal spray to help loosen the phlegm, and even placing your face over a steaming bowl of water will help loosen it up also. Spray the saline spray in both nostrils, then blow your nose.
If you don’t feel better after 5 days, you may need antibiotics from a doctor. Take note if you have headaches not relieved by Tylenol or Ibuprofen, this is a sign of infection. Hope this helps!!
