Have you tried an antihistamine and some fish oil on her food? Antihistamines like Claritin, Benadryl, and Zyrtec can be used but you should call your vet for the dose. The dermatologist I worked with recommend trying three different ones and giving each a week to work before moving on to the next. Some work better for an individual dog than others and some take several days to work. Fish oil is available at the pet store or from your vet. The fatty acids help with their skin. I would be surprised if it wasn’t allergies, not sure why your vet call it "seasonal dermatitis".. unless you tested for allergies and found none. Seems unlikely..
My dog has extreme allergies (she’s a SharPei/Beagle mix) and I was able to find some help with home remedies at this web address: http://www.nativeremedies.com/petalive/articles/useful-home-remedies-dogs-dry-itchy-skin. The shot the vet gave my dog was expensive and useless, too! Good Luck!
epi- soothe shampoo you only find it in a vet clinic it works great for itchy and dry skin its a medicated shampoo. if not take your dog to a vet they will probably send her atopic 25 if its not anything more serious
Brewers Yeast you can get it at any health food store sprinkle a bit on his food every time you put food in his dish.
It works wonders for his coat and helps with keeping his skin from drying out. Its one of my Moms old tricks. You can get more tips in this book she got it for her dog and swears by it.
