I bruise easily and was told it could be a sign of diabetes. I am only 27. Also what do doctors do to test for diabetes?
Also I get light headed sometimes, hotflashes, can go from happy to sad at times,I do urinate frequently but always have, sometimes I feel weak like I dont have energy like usual I dont know if any of these symptoms have anything to do w/ this but if I dont control my moods my husband is going to leave me. I dont know whats going on. I will get a bruise and it will take months for it to disappear. I was adopted so I dont know much about my medical history but I do know diabetes, strokes, cancer, thyroid disease runs on my bio. fathers side. I get chest pains on the left side of my chest but its hard to tell what it is from indigestion its not real intense but it is bothersome @ times.
OK… I was just (5 minutes ago) diagnosed with Goiter (enlarged thyroid). I have had the blood work and ultrasound so it is definitly the problem. I have read up on it when I was warned it may be problem but I cannot find anything about treatment for someone who is ALLERGIC to IODINE. I can have it in very small amounts (I can eat seafood a couple times a month spread out) but if I have large doses or even cook with it daily my throat swells, I get hives and have breathing difficulties. Once I passed out after I ate too much seafood and my airways were blocked because of the reaction and and I had to be admitted to the hospital because of it. I would prefer a natural remedy but I am open to all suggestions and information. Thank You.
I was told by a nurse from the clinic I went to. I have no insurance at my job, so I have been refered to the local Charity Hospital Surgery Center and they can take a month or more to get back to me. I have a friend that used to work there and it is not the place I would want to be. They have been known to perform proceedures that were unnecessary.
I have read several remedies for curing thyroid
problems with chinese herbs. Has anyone tried such treatments or have any advise for natural healing of the thyroid?
I am 16 and i have hashimoto’s thyritis (auto immune thyroid disease). my mother has the same condition but I do not know the cause of her’s, she also has rheumatoid arthritis, does this increase my chances of having rheumatoid arthritis?
I am continually tired, whether i sleep 12 hours or 4 hours I wake up feeling more exhausted than when i went to bed. I went to a Doctor years ago who told me I have chronic fatigue syndorme. My thyroid and iron are always fine. I have tried all the vitamins and also Ginseng for energy but nothing seems to help. Any ideas?
I was wondering if anyone has had any success in lowering their thyroid antibodies through homeopathy. If so, how many times did you have to visit your homeopathist? I’m asking this because I was told it would cost me 200 dollars per visit!!! (which would be fine if I only had to go once or twice!)
I am 7 mos pregnant now so there’s not much I can do now about this but after I have my baby I would like to get something to balance my thyroid and help me. I do not think that my thyroid situation is extremely bad, maybe a good supplement will help me. Please recommend??? Thanx!
Is radioactive treatment actually safe? What are the side affects – temporary or lasting, and what are the benefits? I know people that have had thyroid surgery and have done fine afterwards. Also, since it takes a while for the thyroid gland to shut down, wouldn’t surgery be better if you want to be back to normal sooner? P.S. My doctor is pushing radioactive treatment. But first he wants me to go on an anti-thyroid medication. What is the success rate of anti-thyroid medication. I don’t like putting poison into my body.
Can both be treated by anti-depressants or is the depression caused by hypothyroidism treated by an adjustment to thyroid medication. I’m curious about the connection.
As far as I know, diabetes doesn’t run in my family. My dad has high cholesterol, 2 of my aunts and my mom have high blood pressure, another aunt has a thyroid problem, and my dad’s cousin died from pancreatic cancer. Are my chances high? I’ve heard a lot of these link to diabetes, but I’m not sure which one I’m at risk to get if at all.
I forgot to mention I am 19 years old if that helps.
My mother has Anaplastic Thyroid cancer. She has already started treatement for external radiation (one week is over and still 5 more weeks to go)
Is there any way to reduce side effects of external Radiation for
My mother rencety had total thyroidectomy and she got diagonosed with Anaplastic Thyroid cancer. Every where I read that it typically requires a very aggressive treatment plan with surgery, radiation and sometimes even chemotherapy.
I am trying to find for any other possible alternative treatment options like Naturopathy / Homeopathy / Ayurvedic etc.
I ve been feeling a bit weak lately and somewhat sleepy and drained out. I was just wondering how do I know if I have chronic fatigue syndrome and what are the symptoms?
I had this problem since the year 2004, but my doctors couldnt figure it out. Three of my doctors were involved and each one told me a different situation. One of them being my sleep specialist believe it was sleep apnea and perodic limb movement sndrome, the 2nd one as my internal medicine doctor believed that my thyroid could be low, and the 3rd one being my acupuncturist believed that my body isnt recieving the nutrients that I need and thus no energy. So, basically I dont know what is the main symptom that is causing me to become weak and making me sleep long hours.
I have tried provigil and it did work for a bit then after 2 weeks later I got immune to the medicine and it stopped working for me.
I have a papillary carcinoma,or a type of thyroid cancer does anyone know any diet or alternative medicine for this?
