What can help a herniated disc in a dachshund?

My 3 year old dachshund was diagnosed with a herniated disc in his neck last Monday. He was put on Prednisone for the pain and I was told no running, jumping, or climbing stairs for 3 weeks. He is currently being weaned off of the Prednisone. Today, he is experiencing pain while walking. Is there anything that I can do for him? Is it normal for him to be experiencing pain before he gets better? What else can I expect during the next few weeks?

I have no idea what makes me fatigued all the time, but prednisone seems to work. I can’t be taking this long-term though.

For the past several weeks I have had pain in my muscles as well as my joints. I take 10mg of prednisone daily and methotrexate injections once a week for the rheumatoid. For the first time ever, I have had pain in the area of my clavicles today.

I have just finished my antibiotics and Prednisone and I know I need to replenish all the good bacteria that has been killed from the antibiotics. I am having trouble finding a high-quality probiotic product supplement.

Are there any intensive probiotic therapies out there?
