How long for a skin infection to clear?

I had a small infection of the hair folicle several weeks ago that seemed to blow up into a bigger infection. I saw a doctor and he prescribed a 7-day oral antibiotic (Keflex) and said to use OTC antibiotic ointment (Polysporin) and a thick bandage. I’ve been doing this and it has been a week now. The infection looks better but there is still some minor leakage that can be seen when changing the bandage.

Does these infections normally take more than a week to clear? Or would this mean that the antibiotic isn’t working very well and need something stronger?

I’ve been on an antibiotic for a cold for about a week now and i got a yeast infection from it i know its a yeast infection because ive had many before. I’m 28 weeks pregnant i was wondering if there was any OTC yeast infection creams i can use while pregnant? I’ve tried making an Same day appt with my OB doctor but can’t get one till next week and i need something to help me now. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

I’ve had a stopped up nose now for more than a week. That’s the only symptom I’ve had. I’ve tried DayQuil sinus, OTC cold meds, and even some prescription strength Mucinex but nothing is helping! Could it be allergies instead of my sinuses? If so, what is a good allergy medicine that can help w/ congestion? And how can I tell if it’s allergies instead of sinus problems? Thanks

How do I get rid of acid reflux?

I have had the feeling of nausea and burning in the throat ever since last summer and only recently figured out it is acid reflux. I have given up things like coffee and chocolate, which seemed to help for awhile, but sometimes I still get the symptoms again, no matter what I eat. It gets worse when I drink water for some reason. I tried some OTC medicine but it didn’t help that much and I can’t afford to go to the doctor’s for it. Does anyone have any home remedies or anything like that?

How can libido be decreased for women?

I’m looking for a quick way to reduce libido. Can any readily available food, supplements, herbs, or OTC medications do this?

I notice that whenever I get migraines it usually is in the late morning like 3-4 am and throbbing pain. After I take some otc pain meds and I get up I usually start to feel better after an hour or so. I usually notice signs of new migraines appearing late in the evening, too, like before I go to bed. But could laying down make the migraines worse because of the circulation or blood flow?

My husband has high blood pressure and refuses to go to the doctor. So I am doing some research on how we can try to control it. I know to change his diet and exercise. However, I was reading that you can get some OTC diuretics and calcium channel blockers. Does anyone know some good brands that I can buy or any tips for me. I know everyone is going to say he needs to go to the doctor but he totally refuses to go.
