Do the volunteers already have some illness that there is a chance the medicine could cure in testing?
If so, for most illnesses (e.g. diabetes) medicines already exist that would be safer for the patient to use. Also the people who may look to untested medicines because no existing medicine works would not make up a reliable sample for people affected by the illness, right?

My friend is writing a play in which a lead character goes to the emergency room and has no insurance and no money. A big part of the play hinges on him having to pay this astronomical bill, which his brother then agrees to take on. Is this how it would really play out? Would the brother be responsible? Would the patient if he had no insurance or money?

If I understand Libertarians viewpoint on drugs, they would not have government make it illegal to do any drug. However, as their viewpoint was explained to me, private property (land, money, one’s own body, belongings, etc.) should be the most protected thing. Drugs like meth are causing high rates of property crime in my home state. It seems hypocritical. Could a knowledgeable Libertarian or anyone make a good argument showing how they are not and how I see it is flawed?

. We need to get the data.You know how horrible the situation is for these kids and yet people keep ignoring the father’s age issue. It is not fair to to be so cavalier about the risks of later fathering because the parents are not the ones who have such agonizing lives. We now know that sperm mutate. If guys want to become fathers late I think they should banks their semen in their 20s. I hope you speak out,because you know a lot about the realities. I wish you the best in your work.
Maybe you could write a book about your experience because someone has to tell it like it is. It is not to make anyone feel guilty but to make people aware of reality.

Thank you, it is very exciting. In a 1980 study of autism in Sweden 34 was the mean age of the fathers and at that time this mean age was much older than the fathers is the non -affected group. I hope a lot of money goes to programs to help these kids as they grow up. But we may need to re-think what is an older father. Certainly 32 seems quite young now-a days. Alex

My husband is having surgery next week. His FSA starts over in April. He has used all the money in for this year. We have our insurance through his employer but I also have an FSA through my employer. Will I be able to withdraw from my FSA to pay the balance of the surgery costs?

I am pretty certain that my cat has conjunctivitis in his left eye. I have read all the symptoms from the internet (he has almost all of them), and have seen a picture of a cat with the infection and his eye looked exactly like my cat’s does. We don’t have the money to take him to the vet, so does anyone know of a natural/homeopathic remedy to treat his eye?

it’s just i have heard so many things about how cancer rates are rising rather than lowering. and the treatment industry takes billions of pounds/dollara per year. I AM NOT APPEALING OR REFERRING TO ANIMAL RIGHTS CAMPAIGNS. i simply want to ask if anyone has any opinions on whether our current methods and practices of cancer treatment are misguided, and perhaps only continue due to all the money and vested ineterests poured into current practices. perhaps it iwould be impossible by now to admit we are doing things wrong…has anyone heard any stories or has any real opinions on this? i do not agree with animal experimentation, but that is a whole other issue and this cancer thing is unrelated. i am talking about regardless of animals, is our approach at best wrong and at worst fraudulent???

What costs more in lives and money? Illegal drug use, or the law enforcement’s war on illegal drugs, all of the waring drug gangs and keeping people in prison who were convicted of drug crimes?

If the government controlled and taxed drugs like they do with alcohol would it cut down on all of the drug violence?

Also, Chris Rock made a good point. Drug Companies never research a cure for a disease, which doesn’t make money, they only treatment.

Considering all these ridiculous side effects for many of the prescription drugs, maybe they’re putting additives and side-effects into their drugs on purpose to generate demand for other drugs to treat those side-effects.

When my son was living with us he was involved in an altercation with a neighbor. That neighbor is now suing us via our homeowners policy for injuries he sustained as my son was defending himself. No arrests were made, but the police were called. If the insurance company decides to pay the claim, now that my son has his own home, will my insurance company try to recoup their money by suing my son?

I have an idea for a cancer treatment that i dont’ think has been tried before. It is feasable with current technology.

Who would i talk to if i wanted help developing it? Is there a foundation that would give assistance for these sorts of things? I would be happy to hand it over to a team that could run with it, not in it for the money.
