I have thyroid disease and I am taking synthroid for it. If I start to get hot I will break out into a sweat. It is like a hot flash. I don’t have night sweats so I know I am over the menopause thing. Does anyone out there do the same thing that has thyroid disease? This is very bothersome to me… a real drag!

I am a 53 year old man in good health and I do not take any medications. Sometimes at night I have a hot flash with profuse sweating and practically soak the bed.

Early yesterday morning I woke up feeling very hot and clammy but also had a bit of the chills, it was very uncomfortable.I’m not sure it was a hot flash.If this were to happen in public I don’t know what i’d do.I’m only eleven weeks and six days along, could this be normal? I started a new medicine today that I was told it will cause hot flashes until my body adjust to it. Even though I went through menopause 5-8 years ago, I have never had a hot flash. I want to know what to do when this happens? I want to know how long does a typical hot flash last? I get panicked over things easily, so I want to know what to expect and what I should do.

For the past two weeks, I’ve been unable to sleep at night due to night sweats and hot flashes. When I get a hot flash within a couple of minutes it feels like my heart is going to jump right out of my chest. Is this normal? Any remedies for relief?
