I suffer from migraine headaches. I usually get a really bad one right before I get my period. I remember reading somewhere that you can eat certain food and avoid others to help in the drop of hormones. I have high blood pressure so I can’t take birth control pills to help this.

I have searched on the internet looking for home remedies on lowering high blood pressure. There are so many it’s hard to decipher which would have the best results.
So I thought it would be a better idea to ask people on a personal note. I am trying to reach those that have used a home remedy to lower high blood pressure and have had success their selves.. ( In other words I want it from the horses mouth )
Thanks for reading my post.

I have recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure. I suspect it is a blend of stress and genetics. I would like to steer away from taking long term prescription meds. Any suggestions or links to medical trials done on this subject recently? Personal experiences are welcome.

I have somewhat high blood pressure right on the edge of being stage one hypertension. I don’t want to take medication because A.) I don’t have insurance at the moment and B.) Blood pressure medication is bad for the liver.
So the question is: how can I lower my blood pressure without using medication? Thanks!

I’m not taking the med for that purpose. I’m taking it for anxiety but it’s also meant to lower your blood pressure for those with high blood pressure.

Could someone please explain to me how a high blood pressure flowing in arteries can speed up or make plaque build up in your arteries? This isn’t making sense to me. I thought it had more to do with lipids/cholesterol…

Usually when someone is diagnosed with high blood pressure, a doctor will either put the patient on a Beta Blocker or Calcium Channel Blocker if it’s a heart problem or a Diuretic if it’s a fluid problem.
My question is — How does the doctor differentiate between a heart problem that causes high blood pressure or a fluid problem that causes high blood pressure?

I am applying for SSI benefits, and I’ve been scheduled for a "internal medicine exam" on December 22nd, 2010 because more information is needed on my hypertension. My question is, what happens at an internal medicine exam? I do not feel comfortable with undressing and having someone check my pelvic region. My grandmother had the same exam and she said she didn’t need to undress or have an examination of the pelvic region, but I think it’s because she’s a female. I just don’t feel I should be examined down there if my main problem is my constantly high blood pressure.
