Is it true that moving your scalp in circular motions with your fingertips reduces hair loss? This hair stylist told me that moving your scalp with fingertips in circular motions will reduce the hair loss and strength the hair, because tight scalp is bad for your hair, by moving it you keep the blood flowing to the hair follicles . I just want to know if this is true?

I had these symptoms about 7 months ago, and I was losing hair. I went on propecia for 6 months (I stopped one week ago). Now, these symptoms are coming back again. I am on an anti-dandruff shampoo and have been for a while. Is this associated with hair loss, or is this something completely different?

I usually eat about 35 carbs a day and exercise about 4-5 days a week. The next day after I cheat on my low carb diet why I do experience a lot of hair loss, even my husband notices the hair everywhere.

What if a teenage boy around 14, had hair loss and lost weight about 4 pounds of normal weight, what diagnosis is that? Is it cancer, lukekimia, or something else? If it’s cancer or lukekimia what stage is this? Tell me real facts!

On Thurs. I applied an Optimum Multi-Mineral reduced pH relaxer to my virgin hair, I rinsed it out immediately after it started to burn (which was not pass the allotted time) I then used Aphogee Deep Moisture Shampoo followed by the 2 minute reconstrucerizer. What can I do to prevent hair loss due to not neutralizing?

I’m looking for a good shampoo that will make my hair more voluminous and thicken the hairs that are in my head already. I’m not looking for any shampoos that contain hair-loss inhibiting or hair regrowth drugs… just something that will make the hair thicker and stronger.
Anyone have suggestions?
Thanks for the tips, Miissa. However, everything I’ve seen says that henna will also color your hair. I don’t want this.

Everytime, I saw the article about hair loss and they also advise people to consult with doctor. However, they never mention what type of doctor should we visit? Does anyone visit doctor and get good result? What is my expectation?

Is there a way I can get some hair loss checked without health coverage? By doing some research, it looks like I’d have to consult with a dermatologist. I basically want to see whether it’s hereditary or some other health condition, and what my options are to treat it.
I know I’d probably have to end up paying out of pocket, but what would be the ideal way of seeking help?

If a doctor is assessing whether or not your hair loss is normal and asks you to count how much you lose each day, how do you do this? I count all the hairs that I see in the shower and on my brush and stuff, but I know I lose more than what I actually see each day. So should I add any hairs to what I see and count to compensate for the hairs I might miss counting during a day?
Or is this a little obsessive?

My 14 year old daughter has lost 30-35% of her hair over past 4-6 months. Today, the only advice her doctor gave us was for her to stop Head and Shoulders and see if that helps. Has anyone found that discontinuing a hair product stopped hair loss?

I have quite thick curly black hair and over the past year I’ve noticed it getting a little thinner around the front and back. This is mostly apparent when I wear my hair down (like Tom Welling), however when I’ve kept it up (which looks something like an afro) i’ve noticed less hair loss.
I don’t know if there’s a link between wearing your hair up and preventing more hair loss this way or not, but I would love to find out what the best hair-maintenance styles for men with curly hair are in light of the above
