My dad is 81 years old with stage 4 prostate cancer. Been diagnosed for 2-3 years now.
Presently in the lymph nodes and not yet in the bones.
PSA is less then 1%. Gleason score is 7.
He has been on hormone treatment for more then a year now and experiences the normal side effects. His doctors seemed to give him no response. They cannot do anything to stop the side effects. My dad is use to it by now but wishes for the side effects to be stopped.
Is this a bad sign of experiencing the side effects?

Because if I do have cancer I don’t want to feel the symptoms of menopause. Will all doctors refuse to give you estrogen after having cancer?

I was hit in April by an uninsured motorist; he totalled both our cars. I have since seen 8 doctors to diagnose several issues caused by the accident. I’ve undergone xrays, physical therapy, ultrasounds, blood tests and an MRI, and am now on medication and more phys therapy.
I had k in uninsured motorist medical coverage, which my ridiculous claim adjuster told me last week ran out over a month ago – I’m now getting bills I can’t afford, and I’m not yet well. A friend said I can demand more $ from my insurance company? But he also said Colorado requires insurance companies to cover all med bills, and I’ve found no such statement on the CO govt sites.
My regular health insurance won’t cover these bills – what do I do?
Was also told attornies won’t take my case: the kid who hit me is likely illegal, has been unresponsive. One lawyer said even if I won the case, wouldn’t necessary get $ out of it. Last thing I need are lawyer bills.

I’m a 14 year old boy, I’m pretty sure I have acid reflux. I haven’t seen any doctors in maybe 5 years. I’m scared. What will happen if I leave this untreated? Thanks, 10 points to the best answer.

My grandmother is 90 years old and has congestive heart failure. She also is a diabetic that takes three insulin shots per day. In the last week she had two heart attacks, and the doctors have said there is little more that they can do for her. Monday, Hospice is going to step in and they will take her off all her medications and just give her morphine for pain until she passes away. I am just wondering what will happen to her once they stop giving her the insulin.

I need help for a project I am doing for personal reasons – my mother died of lung cancer. If you or your loved one has/had cancer, how long did it take from when it was suspected to when they started treatment? Any doctors who can tell me about the steps from initial suspicion to diagnosis and then treatment and how long it takes from the suspicion to treatment (on average) would be great. If you can cite a source, that’d be just great too. Thanks.

I am just curious whether autism is a global issue, or just an issue in countries where children get immunizations. Are there studies? On the Today Show, doctors were claiming that autism just surfaces around the same time children are immunized. Wouldn’t this be easy to prove by assessing the rates of autism in children of underdeveloped nations (who haven’t been immunized)?

A medical intuitive is a person that can scan the body, reading energy and detecting disease and illness that even modern medical technology may miss. I have been a medical intuitive for 17 years. I’m looking to work with doctors that are open to alternative healing remedies.

New doctors have found out I was misdiagnosed with diabetes. There were problems with the glucose tolerance test. My doctor said I had hypoglycemia. He told me I needed to be treated with diabetic medication. What effect would the glimiperide have on my system? Did it make my pancreas increase my insulin levels, trying to lower my blood sugar levels ? However it worked, it really has my endocrine system all messed up. Does anyone know about this?

I have severe migraines everyday. I wake up it’s there, I go to sleep it’s still there. For the past 6 years I have lived with a migraine that never goes away. I’ve tried all of the major OTCs and prescription medications for headaches and nothing ever works. If there is some odd, non-medication treatment (besides accupuncture which failed to work for me) that you’ve tried and it worked for you please let me know.
I’ve also been to many doctors because of this, I’ve spent time at MHNI (Michigan Head pain and Neurological Institute) which specializes in headaches, and they can’t even tell me what’s wrong.

I have looked up all the possible side effects etc on the internet and the official website. Recently been prescribed lamictal. Its been increased very slowly. I am curious to what others who are treated with it their "small" side effects. I seem to be having a slight cough shortness of breath nothing I find serious but I didn’t expect it and well since its september I am assuming its the change of weather as I always get a cold from season to season. I have no signs of the potentially fatal rash though. I just want to know what others have experienced first hand without a doctors stamp on it.
