If you took your child to a health care provider (dentist, doctor etc.) what would you want the doctor to wear? whiet coat? Shirt and Tie? Business casual? scrubs?

I think I was a bit too aggressive with flossing my teeth and now the gum around one of my molars is all swollen. It bleeds whenever I floss it, and mildly throbs. I can’t get in to see my dentist before leaving for the holidays, so what are home remedies for treating it until I return and can see her? I’m getting a deep cleaning in January.

A doctor a dentist and a pharmacist told me they prescribe valtrex/anti viral for canker sores. Are they mistaking these for cold sores or do they know something we don’t

Anybody know home remedies for fixing loose caps?

Instead of paying so much just to have the dentist cement a loose caps, are there any home remedies?

I’ve never been to the dentist in my life. I’ve got a cavity I want to take care of, but I really don’t know where to start. I mean, I found a dental place near home, but I just simply don’t know what to ask or look for. Ex: fees, do I need to make an appointment, etc. One main thing I’m worried about is not having insurance and possibly being denied treatment.

I received dental treatment under the notion that my insurance would cover all charges beyond my co-payment. I called ahead of time to ensure what my co-payment would be. I gave my dentist my new insurance card prior to treatment and the woman made a photo copy of it. After all treatment and insurance submission, turns out my insurance would no cover two of the fillings. Now, I am stuck with a 0+ bill. Does this seem correct, am I just stuck with the bill or is there something more I can do?

I just completed my dental filling on my upper ‘rabbit’ tooth, and was told that i also need to continue with the root canal treatment and so on by the dentist. However, i feel that my tooth will last for a good couple of years without having to further treat it. How long will it last probably without any pain or unease?

What is the treatment for a peg lateral incisor?

I have an extra small lateral incisor (more commonly known as a peg tooth), and I’m going to get my braces off soon. What will the treatment be to correct this tooth? Will the dentist put a veneer on it, or will it be a built up treatment to make the tooth grow over time? I’m worried about how my smile will look with that ugly tooth surrounded by my other perfect teeth. Will the dentist put a veneer on it very soon after I get my braces off?

I won’t be getting to the dentist for another couple of days, and the entire left side of my head is throbbing. Which is the best OTC medicine to take? Tylonol? Ibuprofin? Asprin? What worked for you?

What home remedies are there for a locked jaw?

For a few years, I’ve had a misaligned jaw and the left side cracked when I opened my mouth really wide. But for the past 2 weeks, the right side of my jaw has just gotten locked and I can’t open my mouth completely without pain.

I have read a lot about TMJ and people often advise seeing a dentist or chiropractor, but I was wondering whether anybody has any home remedies I can try first. I have tried massaging and putting a heating towel. Although the heating towel allowed me to open my mouth wider, it still didn’t cure the problem.

Also, I tend to sleep with my mouth open and I consistently sleep sideways, which I believe is what caused my misaligned jaw after years and years.

Any advice on what I can do as a last resort before seeking professional help??

Thanks!!

I am looking for the average treatment and cost in the US to repair a molar. I don’t have a regular dentist, and I do not have insurance. Any helpful information will be greatly appreciated.

The dentist is saying that my boyfriend has periodontal disease. The first step is to come in for a deep cleansing which will be 120.00 per quadrant. She is then saying that the second step is to schedule the surgery. I have read some things on this board that just mention the cleansing not the surgery also. If he has the deep cleansing (which I am assuming right now if the deep scaling and root planning) why would he need to schedule the surgery as well. Wouldnt we have to see if the deep cleansing worked first?
