And no..I haven’t ask this question before lol.

(My dad 81 yrs old w prostate cancer stage 3 and spread already into the lymph nodes early this yr)

What are the signs of the cancer spreading to the bones? High PSA levels? Anything else? And with low psa levels, can the cancer still spread to the bones or not a chance? His next bone scan is in Jan (2x a yr), so I’m worried abt that.

thanks!

My dad is 81 years old with stage 4 prostate cancer. Been diagnosed for 2-3 years now.

Presently in the lymph nodes and not yet in the bones.

PSA is less then 1%. Gleason score is 7.

He has been on hormone treatment for more then a year now and experiences the normal side effects. His doctors seemed to give him no response. They cannot do anything to stop the side effects. My dad is use to it by now but wishes for the side effects to be stopped.

Is this a bad sign of experiencing the side effects?

fever???????????????????????

This is kinda a stupid question…How do u make your temperature higher ova night?right now my temperature is 99.1 and my dad will still make me go to school tomorrow unless i have a higher temperature and i really dont want to go to school tomorrow (feel to icky :( …). i asked him ifi could stay home another day but he said not unless i have a fever and 99.1 doesnt count as a fever to him so ya…

How long can someone live with prostate cancer stage 4?

My dad has prostate cancer stage 4. With his hormone treatment, can he still live for several more years? He is also 81 years old and currently in the lymph nodes area.

How can my dad have pressure wounds,If he was inable to lay on his belly, and they were also on both sides of his penis!
Please explain that, answer that and stay fashionable…

My dad has bone scan every 3 months now. As long as he is on the treatments everything should be ok right? Or despite the treatments, it can still spread anywhere?

Background:

My dad is 80 years old with prostate cancer stage 3 (2 years now) and spread into the lymph nodes area. His neighbor has the same thing except his neighbor is already in the bones and have about a year to live. So this absolutely scares me.

My dad purchased a life insurance policy in oct 2008, he died in a tragic car crash on nov 2008, will the life insurance company pay?

My dad was employed at his job for about 30 years and had a good union with great heath benefits (health insurance and drug prescription medicine benefits). My mom is really sick and takes about 6 different prescriptions a month which are really expensive. Since my dad had benefits from his job had only had to pay a co-pay for the drugs. Now he retired and his job does not have retiree benefits. Is there any affordable way for my dad to get the drugs my mom need? She is already on medicare plan b but does not qualify for the prescription medicine part D. Any ideas?

Whenever someone smokes, I get headaches and sometimes difficulty breathing. The pain has gotten worse over the last six months. Could anyone explain? ( I do not smoke)
I can’t really avoid it. Whenever my dad takes me out, he always smokes. At least two before arriving at the destination. I have Air Conditioning on, but no help.
He does roll down his window, have the AC on and I even have to roll my window down it’s that bad. I actually have two medicines, Cyproheptadine and something like Zyrtec.

On my dad side, his mother died of breast cancer, his sister had cervical cancer and i believe another one had ovarian.(My dad has like nine brothers and sisters so it’s confusing)
On my mom side, her mother and father both died from colon cancer.
What are my chances of getting these any of these in my situation? I’m 14, so when should i start taking precautions for these cancers? I’m kinda nervous for my future. Thank you.

What are some natural remedies for migraines?

I’m starting to get my dad’s migraines, which really sucks. He tells me to take migraine pills because they help him, but I don’t really like to take medication unless I really have to. Are there any effective natural methods for relieving migraines?
I know the difference between a migraine and a headache, and they’re definitely migraines. And I know they’re not contagious, they’re genetic.

My 84 year old Grandma recalls her mother making a poultice put on a cut open paper bag then wrapping it around her dad’s head. She suffers with extreme headaches, but doesn’t know exactly what was in this remedy. I told her I’d ask around. Anyone know of any old southern home remedies similar to this?

I have minor hair loss near the scalp and middle. I am 23 and my dad is almost fully bald and it started when he was around my age. Mom’s dad just had receding hair line and minor hair loss which is what I have. Should I take monoxidil and if so it is possible that if I take it for 3-12 months and stop using for any reason, could it actually accelerate hair loss?
