Especially on Facebook, like "What color is your bra", "where do you like your purse" and now the whole "inches" thing… I support victims of breast cancer, but their tactics of raising awareness are very repelling and inappropriate.

We had to do a PSA to my environmental class and he said only things about the environment. But the lets another group do texting and driving. I want to make sure that that isn’t right and how can breast cancer relate to the environment?

I asked a question about whether or not I had breast cancer awhile back, and the responses were generally no. However, I am curious as to how to define one from another, as they both have similar qualities. The main one I am concerned with is breast lumps under the nipple area. How can you tell the difference?

Our close family friend found out she has breast cancer a few weeks ago and is getting a double masectomy tomorrow (June 6). I know she probably be fine but there are always risks. Are the chances of survival good for someone having a double masectomy?
Thanks to everyone who replied back. To answer the one question, I’m not sure if she is getting reconstructive surgery. I just wanted know what the risks were during the operation and even after. We haven’t heard from them yet today, but I’m hoping everything goes well! Thanks again everyone…you’re answers really helped! Please check my other question about Limb Girdle and maybe you can answer it!

I’m eligible for breast reconstruction because of the different sizes of my breasts, I’ve been reading up about the risks of having the procedure done and most of what I find is about getting it done after having breast cancer. I want to know if the risks are lower or different for me since I didn’t have breast cancer, seeing it mentions having radiation and everything for cancer treatment.

A friend of my mom’s died of breast cancer a few days ago. If that weren’t bad enough, ANOTHER friend of my mom’s, who is also the mother of a friend of mine, recently got diagnosed with breast cancer. And its so sad because its Christmas time. That poor family has been through so much…
What is the survival rate for breast cancer? Does anyone have any statistics or percentages?

My mom was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer last april. She’s gone through chemo and radiation but now is on all sorts of drugs. One drug, "Chantix" is to help her quit smoking and the others are to keep the cancer from coming back.
She’s taking Armidex to keep the cancer from coming back and Clonidine to help with the side effects from the Armidex. The drug label says that if she misses more than two doses it can lead to heart attack or stroke!!!
She says she’d rather smoke marijuana like in the old days because all this stuff is so scary.
I appreciate any advice and information. Thanks!!!
I’m asking for ADVICE. She doesn’t want to take all these scary drugs… are there any alternatives?

I’ve heard that if you have dense breast tissue you are more likely to get breast cancer. Whats the difference between dense breast tissue and fat breast tissue, and how can you tell which one you have??

-I think we need to bring back equality
- breast cancer is the 5th leading cause of death in women
-skin, brain, etc affects men, women, and children equally
-less then 1% of men get breast cancer
-women can now get breast augmentations paid by insurance companies due to breast cancer.
Kurt…never thought of that! That is inequality at it’s finest.

I am looking for the pink rubber band bracelets for breast cancer awareness. I would like to drive to a store and pick them up rather then order online (I don’t want a huge quantity and I want some of the proceeds to go towards breast cancer research etc.)
Does anyone know of any stores that sell these?
Thanks in advance!
