Immune system?

Let say you have had the same disease before and have developed an immunity agaisnt it (antibodies). Can you still get sick before your immune system kicks in a kills off the disease?

How does the immune system fight cholera? antibodies? etc.?
i cant find anything that is on humans and not about lab tested rats! i dont need anything complex, just something nice and understandable!

Thanks!

My question asks me to explain what artifical immunity is, and how b-cells produce antibodies. The only thing is I dont know much about it, and its confused me.

Would be much appricated!

A person took only the first 2 doses of the antibodies to prevent HepB and skipped the final one, then he/she realized they were infected at one point or another, or even still infected with Hep B so it was shown positive in the blood test. Then the doctor says the person has Hep B immunity now so does that mean the virus is completely gone and is it contagious to others?

What are the chances of getting swine flu twice?

I have swine flu at the moment. Please don’t freak out. I’m fine, it feels like a normal flu.

I just want to know what are my chances of getting it again? I take it my body build up some antibodies so the chances of getting it again are really slim?

Thanks.

i’m going to finish dental assisting school in 3 months and i want to know what vaccinations should i get?

i know about the flu shot every year and i already got the hep b shot like 9 years ago. i went to the doctor to make sure that my antibodies are still working against hep b, but i’m still waiting on my results…

any other shots?

thanks.

1.The altered DNA is used to synthesize changed forms of these proteins.
2.The altered DNA leaves the nucleus and becomes part of the allergy-producing protein.
3.The altered DNA is the code for the antibodies against the allergens.
4.The altered DNA is used as an enzyme to break down the allergens in peanuts.

AIDS testing for blood donors?

What kind of tests are done on blood that is donated to be used for transfusions? I read that it takes up to 6 months for antibodies to show up after infection. The western blot is one of the tests used to detect these antibodies. What test is used and if it’s to detect the antibodies instead of the antigen then how safe is donar blood? Thanks.
Crystal that’s what I mean. The ELISA and western blot both detect the antibodies which may not show up accurately for 6 months after infection. An antigen test is the only test that detects the virus itself.
