I understand different types of alternative medicine are used to treat different ailments. But in general what type of alternative medicine is the most effective at treating what it purports to cure? For your answer can you give an example of the type of ailment and what it is exactly that the alternative medicine does to cure it so I have a better understanding?

I would like to try alternative medicine, what would you suggest?
Health issues:
-bipolar disorder type II
-Anorexia with bulimic tendencies (Getting therapy)
-Very tired
I also have a dairy/lactose free diet.
I am getting "real" medical treatment. However, I would like to try these things as an additional treatment.

Chemotherapy/Radiation etc is nothing but poison to the body. When you poison the immune system and irradiate tissues, you create physical imbalances which in turn can create cancer. This is the simple reason why so many people who subject themselves to conventional cancer treatments find themselves battling recurring cancer. Conventional cancer treatments are downright brutal and destroy the immune system. I strongly believe in prevention and alternative medicine, and living a pure and natural lifestyle with raw organic foods, so my family and I will probably never ever get cancer. But if me or my kids or wife ever got cancer I swear I would never subject myself or them to that torture just to please the big pharma companies which don’t give a sh*t about people. Just like I would never give them a bottle of rat poison to swallow. The big pharma companies only care about their trillion-dollar a year industry and keeping people brainwashed. My question is would a parent be legally allowed to refuse conventional cancer treatment if their kid got cancer?

chemotherapy/radiation is the death wish. Big pharma is constantly throwing money out trying to make natural medicine of any kind illegal everywhere and denying the fact that it actually works! But of course everyone is too brainwashed to see that.

the alternative methods I’ve researched work better than any chemotherapy bullcrap, and I’ve talked to people who’ve done them
Its only called "alternative" because the stupid medical association and pharmacutical companies surpress them and deny the fact that they actually work! And if my kids got cancer and I couldn’t treat them they way I saw fit we would go to some country where we could.

I hear it time and time again, not just on this forum but from people I know. The line goes:
"Conventional medicine only treats the symptoms but Alternative medicine treats the cause of the illness"
Is it really the case that for all our modern medicine we never treat the cause of an illness? What mechanism does AltMed use to get to the cause of an illness that Conventional medicine misses. Can we incorporate this mechanism into mainstream medicine?

This is a question to Jehovah Witnesses and other religions aswell
What do you think of alternative medicine such as chinese herbal medicine, natropathy, reiki, crystal healing, flower essences healing. Do you think these are against God and if they were then why are all these stuff in nature, the nature that God created for our use?
I know some religions say they are against it like crystals cos it’s pagan, but how is it pagan when they are from the earth?

Alternative medicine as defined by NCCAM. If so please present any "conclusive" studies accepted by the national library of medicine that demonstrates statistically significant positive results which go beyond the threshold of the placebo effect.

Also, why are chiropractors considered a form of alternative medicine? I mean they go through 4 years of schooling, and don’t doctors refer patients to chiropractors? So doesn’t that make them effective?

Which one do you trust more?
Modern western medicine (medications, scientifically based statistics, doctor prescribed health and nutrition guides, etc.)
Alternative medicine (herbs, organic foods, natural folk-medicine treatments, and a personal approach to what you feel is best for your health, etc.)
Or do you draw from both modern and alternative?

I am thinking about pursuing a career in alternative medicine; holistic nutrition in particular.
I’ve searched for online programs, but for some reason i do not qualify, they say.
I have a GED and a good job, but would like to pursue this career path.
I would need to start this as an onling thing, and maybe attend school in a couple years when I can afford to take some time off.
