I know that now a diagnosis of autism is a lot more common, but back then it was usually something else. And more recently, in the 1980′s and 1990′s, a lot of them were diagnosed as having ADHD. And I get the impression that some who have ADHD now are being diagnosed as autistic.

I snort an apparent generic version of ADHD medicine and now I have really bad sinuses, apatite loss, and nausea. And I don’t have a headache but oddly I feel the presences of the headache I had the night I snorted it. I need to know how to get rid of these symptoms quick before my mom finds something out. I know I made an awful decision but I need help fixing it.

My brother showed many signs of Autism as a child and my mother neglected us so he never got diagnosed. The school labeled him ADHD but now that I’m an adult I see that his behavior was not ADHD at all. I am pretty convinced he has either Autism or Aspergers. (sp?) This is the first opportunity we’ve had to get him some answers because our biological mother is finally out of the picture. He is 19. If anyone has any help that would be great!

I’ve sometimes suspected that I have Asperger syndrome, so yesterday I took an online assessment that was developed by experts at Cambridge University. I scored a 29, which is above average, but I read that people with Asperger syndrome normally have a score of 35 or above. Is it possible to have autistic features without having Asperger syndrome or any of the other autistic spectrum disorders?
I have actually been diagnosed with ADHD.

I was diagnosed with both ADHD and mild anxiety, so adderall was not a very good choice for me with both of those conditions. I tried taking these high quality krill oil omega 3 supplements, two pills twice a day which is maximum dose. I’ve noticed within weeks that I can concentrate better, think more rationally and clearer, and have better memory. Have you also found this when you took these supplements or is this just a placebo effect? Thanks!

From the Lexapro website: "Lexapro is well tolerated by most people. The most commonly reported side effects of Lexapro are nausea, insomnia, problems with ejaculation, somnolence, increased sweating, fatigue, decreased libido, and anorgasmia. Most of the side effects experienced by patients taking Lexapro are mild to moderate and go away with continued treatment, and usually do not cause patients to stop taking Lexapro."
Did you experience a decreased libido? If so, how much did it drop and did it come back as you continued on the drug. I know this is pretty hard to measure. My wife says it has killed hers and we have basically stopped. Seems kind of extreme but possible I guess.
Thank you all for your feedback. Great personal stories and you really helped me more than you know.
I almost awarded best to destinishadow1 for pointing out the poetic nature of my question. LOL
Jess: Thanks for sharing. I think as long as your happy then don’t worry about it all. I think your one of the few who would call this side effect "interesting" LOL
Country Mom: At least your friend was doing the job
j/k I don’t really want my wife to do it if it were a job or chore because I can take a good guess at how awkard that probably is.
stephsteph320: Please email me with whatever tricks you do to keep it "regular" WOW!
kelly: Nice Save! I don’t know why men take this stuff personal. Fortunatly, I take Adderall for ADHD so I KNOW about effects and side effects but there was still this, "its because of my small…" is why she isn’t. Stupid male brain!
Meg: Lucky You! How good was your libido before you got on the meds
Everyone’s biochemistry different.
Dennis B: Congratulations. You have made sure I’ll never take Lexapro (LOL).

What would I call somebody that takes medicine. I am writing a paper on ADHD, and want to know what you would call somebody that takes it. Like are the a prescriptant (or prescribee, etc.)of ADHD or what? I know that is probably wrong, but trying to explain what I need to know.

I started my three girls on probiotics a couple of weeks ago for general overall health reasons. My one daughter who suffers from ADHD, Bipolar, and PDD has had an incredible benefit form this supplement. She is a different child. She is calm, happy, and has had a wonderful attitude. Has anyone had the same benefit or is it just a total coincidence.
