I just turned 40 and am experiencing hot flashes, is it menopause?
I had a partial hysterectomy at the age of 28 for fibroid tumors. I already had 4 kids, and had been suffering for a couple of years. I turned 40 just 2 months ago, and have been having hot flashes for about 6 weeks, is it menopause or something else? We don’t have medical insurance, so going to the doctor to run the normal test for menopause is not an option.

It just may.Take 800 or 1,000 IU of Vitamin E a day. See if it works, after a few days.Good luck
well if you are a woman then yes it sounds like the beginning of menopause… however if you are a man, idk what to tell ya…
I’m going to school to be a medical assistant, and we learned that women who have hysterectomies, tend to start menopause early. There’s also pre-menopause that women can go through as early as in their 30’s. My mom is 43 and is going through menopause. she also had a partial hysterectomy. I think it is very likely that you’re going through menopause.

40 is not too young for perimenopause since menopause is a transition which can go on for a long time. Hot flashes are oftentimes worse during the early part of menopause. You could also be experiencing thyroid issues which sometimes are mistaken for menopause or peri-menopause. I really suggest that you get your TSH tested( thyroid stimulating hormone) to see if something is out of order. It might be worth springing for blood tests to make sure everything is OK. If you have a thyroid issue, it is simple to fix by taking inexpensive meds. If the condition is not dealt with it can cause many health issues.
