How should I do the salt water treatment for a cartilage piercing?
I just got my ear cartilage pierced and I got the neat-o salt to help it heal. I just don’t really know how to treat it. I mixed the treatment and tried to stick my ear in it, but I had to lay awkwardly sideways in order to get my ear in there and I didn’t feel like my ear was actually getting saturated in the stuff.
Can I just soak the water in a cotton ball or something? Would that work the same way?

If you get plastic cups that fit over your ear you can position it just right and it will act like a suction cup and nothing will leak out if you put your head straight. However you will still need to hold it so the weight from the water doesn’t make the cup fall.
Soaking a cotton ball (or two) in the solution is perfectly fine. Most people have to do that to that area of the body, as it’s very awkward to hold a cup there.
Sometimes shot glasses can be small enough, but you may still have problems.
well useing a cotton ball and soaking it can work but you dont get the full benefit of it.
when my friend got hers pierced she soaked the earing in the solution and put it back in and she also used a cloth that had been soaked in it and wiped it.
hope it helps
when i got my ear piercing i had to use the salt water thing and i user cotton balls. They work perfectly good. But paper towl or cloth might be better for reaching into the hole.
