Dying the tips of my hair-how to keep healthy?
I just trimmed two inches of my hair ( but it’s still pretty long!) and now my friend is going to help me dye the tips of my hair either black or a purple/lavender. I know when a person bleaches or dyes their hair it can make the hair really dry and unhealthy so I was wondering what their is that I can do to keep my hair (specifically tips) healthy. anyone?

Coconut oil and jojoba oil will add protein and moisturize, respectively. And they’re both really light oils so they won’t make your hair look nasty, just rub it into your palms and smooth it on the ends. Nothing will be as healthy as undyed hair, but the oils will certainly be a lot better than nothing. I use coconut oil and it’s actually gotten rid of my split ends. I found two tiny ones last month and they’ve been gone since. I started using it in March.
you can add any kind of cooking oil to ur hair. this may sound gross but it works. it replenishes your hair and adds slikiness as well.
also they have special shampoos that are for colored hair. You may want to use those shampoos right after you color your hair.
GOOD LUCK!= ]
I dyed my daughter’s tips purple about two months ago and just cut all the bleached and then colored hair off because she couldn’t comb through her tips anymore (about 6 inches were lost). The damage was just too great even though she treated her tips with in-leave treatments from Clairol, Pau Mitchell, and L’Oreal.
Just be aware that you may have to loose the tips later that you color now.
I must say however, it looked great and funky for the time being.
Really it all depends on what sort of natural hair you have. There is a difference between bleach and a dye, bleach is usually the culprit when it comes to damage. so if your hair is very fine or frizzy id stay away from bleach but in saying that sometimes its the only way of acheiving bright high fashion colours. so use the best shampoo and conditioner you can afford and use a store bought treatment when its feeling a bit dull plus your tips are what we call more porous than your natural hair particually if bleach has been used. so the now 2 different hair types can become notty so a leave in condtioner will help with detangling and protect against styling
