Does arthritis happen overnight or is it a process of months or years before the symptoms occur?
I was diagnosed with arthritis in my elbow In December of 2007. I would like to know if it happened overnight (the arthritis), or does it building up over months or years to become painful enough to notice?

Arthritis is the wearing down of cartlidge so it doesn’t happen overnight. Usually takes a few months to notice and can be caused by a variety of things ie high exercise. Previous Injuries can also take a tole as i know that i ruptured my ACL in my knee and now i have a high risk of athritis developing a little later in life.
It doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time. There are an awful lot of different types of arthritides. I can only speculate that you’re referring to osteoarthritis which takes quite some time to manifest both clinically and radiographically.
