Congratulations on your pregnancy. Constipation can happen any time but more often in later months. To avoid any chemical effects on your baby I recommend warm water enemas if you get constipated. The best time to have an enema is the night before or at the very onset of labor. It will stimulate your labor and you can empty yourself in the privacy of your own home rather than with 10 residents watching. You’ll be glad you did it a couple of days later if you have to get cut.
CONGRATS!!! I was constipated with my first son. Drink a lot of apple juice! That will help. Or prune juice or eat prunes or raisins…..I am not a fan…but, that’s something else the doctors suggested. Good Luck!
Congratulations
And no, it’s definitely not too early for constipation. I had that with both of my pregnancies very early on. Make sure you’re eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and drinking enough water, that should get things moving a bit!
