Both of my big toenails look slightly yellow and are, indeed, a bit flaky. I thought that it was discoloration from lots of nail polish without basecoat and my lack of calcium, but I also have bits of "gunk" or debris that collect under the nail and smell. Is this normal or does this seem like a fungus?

I can’t afford medical treatment for my toenail fungus so it is getting worse… My nail is falling off, and because of the fungus, I doubt it’ll grow back. What should I do about this? When it comes out, what do I need to do?

In all honesty, I don’t think I ever noticed people’s toenails until Lamisil started their nauseating campaign of fungus ads.

About 6 months ago my big toenail got infected with some sort of fungus (didn’t spread), and I lost my toenail. It’s been growing back, but it’s growing back really thick and doesn’t look like my other nails at all. What’s going on?

What did you first notice about your toenails that made you realize they had fungus?
How long did it take to progress?
How has it affected your life?
Thank you.

I was in Brazil for a long time and I got some fungus under my toenails. They look freaking nasty. Anyone know any cheap/fast way to get rid of it? I have heard of using Hydrogen Peroxide but I am not sure…

My daughter has a toenail fungus and I’m wondering if I should throw away her old shoes and socks? I like to hand me down her clothes to my younger daughter, but I’m afraid if this fungus lives in her socks and shoes that my younger daughter will be infected if she wears these things. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I have had toenail fungus for about 6 years. I went to the doctor and she told me to cover it with polish. Does anyone know of anything that works?

I’ve been having good luck curing my toenail fungus with apple cider vinegar as the nail is now growing in clear. But I noticed the part of the nail that is still infected has turned from yellow to dark orange/brown. Does anyone know what this means? Is that the fungus dying or is it getting worse?

I can’t believe I’m asking this because I see all the rude comments that people leave to these types of questions, but I’m a very young female and I already have toenail fungus on 4 of my toes. For the past 2 weeks I’ve been soaking my feet in part bleach, water and soap and then putting tea tree oil on them twice a day and Myoxcide once a day. Has anyone had any luck with this sort of thing?? Or any suggestions?!?

It is in my genes to have toenail fungus.
My big toenail started getting infected and it is not at the point where it has almost fallen off. Part of it is still attached however, but I know it will have to come off soon.
I’m a female living in Miami, so wearing sandals is a must. At this point this toenail is becoming impossible to hide (nail polish has been by savior until now)
I know it will take a while to cure and regrow this nail, but in the meanwhile, does anyone have advice on any specific styles of sandals that are stylish that I can wear, or how any of you have dealt with "ugly toes" ?
