Can the nuvaring or any other type of birth control reduce your libido?
I have been on the nuvaring for 3 months now and have recently lost a bit of my libido. I know you can have chiemical problems in your body that can lower your libido but could the hormones, etc. in birth control do it also?
What are some types of birth control (if any) wouldnt lower my libido or not by near as much?

Oh yes. I was on Yaz for 4 months and I quit it as of last night. I had NO sex drive, at all. When I was on Trinessa and Ortho Tricyclin, I had a reduced sex drive, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as Yaz. I’d ask your doctor about the Ortho if you’re able to take birth control pills. Good luck!
yes
Yes – bigtime !
I have been on birth controll for 7 years and from time to time i stop using it for a couple of months, and everytime im off of birth control i actually want to have sex, but when i am on birth control thats the last thing on my mind. So i really think it affects ur sex life, it does for me.
It did for me. I thought I was just getting old or something, but then I quit using it and I felt like I was 18 again. My husband loved it, so much so that I got pregnant before I got a new prescription! After this baby I’m going to try the IUD Mirena. It supposed to be a lower dose of hormones that won’t effect you sex-drive as much. Hope this helps
any birth control will act different towards certain people so they all will lower the libido. I have been in this situation and tried everything to boost my sex drive and feel that umph I needed to. I tried a natural herbal supplement meant to increase the sex drive and orgasm strength in women. After I tried it, the sex was great and the urges were tremendous. For natural herbs I was happy. It was called Hersolution and I saved on it at herenhancement.com which was great. Good luck and I hope this helps.
