PRObiotics usually help prevent yeast infections, ANTIbiotics commonly cause them
No actually probiotics can cure a yeast infection. This is because the pro bacteria kick the yeasts butt.
Yes that could actually increase the bacteria down there. go to your doctor or drink lots of cranberry and pineapple juice
antibiotic treatments can give yeast infections, my Dr. tells me to eat lots of yogurt when taking them. Now, I don’t get yeast infections when I am taking antibiotics.
Not sure what pro-biotic is tho…
Probiotics are typically used to prevent or help treat a yeast infection because they replenish the supply of good bacteria that keep yeast under control, but I suppose anything that changes your normal flora down there could cause one, though I’ve definitely never heard of that. Why are you taking them? If you’re taking them to balance out the effects of an antibiotic, then its the antibiotic that caused the yeast infection…
In response to the first answer…bacteria does not cause yeast infection, fungus does. And cranberry juice is for urinary tract infections, not yeast infections. Anything high in sugar, like juice, is bad for a yeast infection.
And to the second answer…eating yogurt IS equivalent to taking a probiotic because yogurt is full of those good bacteria…doctors tell you to eat yogurt with antibiotic to prevent yeast infections! Which is why I doubt a probiotic could cause one.
