I had crohns disease, and I had already had the colonoscopy, and I now need an Upper GI series via barium swallow. The liquid I drank to clear my system before the colonoscopy was disgusting, and I barely was able to drink it all without throwing up. I had a cervical biopsy done in February. I got it done because my pap smear indicated precancerous cells. When I got the biopsy done, it came back looking fine, but the doctors weren’t convinced since the pap was so irregular. I’m going to get another one done next week.

What could cause a biopsy to look normal if it wasn’t?

I have crohns of ileum in remission and am on immunosuppressants. I have an appt in two weeks to go over biopsy. My colon was clear and normal. What might he find on biopsy? Precancerous cells? Inflammation not seen by naked eye?
