Diabetes natural cure

Almost all physicians will say that there is no cure for diabetes and you cannot
reverse or eliminate the disease.  However, there is plenty of evidence to the
contrary, suggesting that there are some natural cures for diabetes.

Diabetes is the name for the disease in which the pancreas does not produce
the amount of insulin needed for the body.  Insulin is a hormone that in adequate
levels in the body turns sugars or glucose into energy.  Without proper natural
insulin production, your body is unable to turn the sugars into the energy so the
sugars remain in the blood and so the kidneys are now working harder than they
normally would.  The sugars are then excreted by the body through the urine.

One of the common symptoms of diabetes is the need to urinate frequently.  Over
time, if left untreated, diabetes can place you at a very high risk for hard disease
or stroke.  Therefore, it is crucial to be able to learn to control your diabetes.  There
are plenty of natural remedies that can control blood glucose levels and in turn
control the symptoms of diabetes.  However, once the symptoms are under
control, you must adhere to the diet in order to prevent the onset of the diabetic
symptoms once again.

Healthy Diet in Diabetes

The most important diabetes natural cure is a change in your diet and lifestyle.
You begin with small changes in the diet and continue to make more changes as
you go on and eat a healthy diet as much as possible.  Diabetes is very much a
lifestyle disease and just as poor diet and lifestyle habits contributed to the disease,
then good habits can contribute to it’s reversal.  The body is miraculous in it’s
inherent ability to heal itself.

You must eat your meals on a regular and predictable schedule and eat the
correct portion amounts.  Rather than one or two large meals per day, you should
be eating four smaller meals.  This helps to better control portion sizes and helps
you to produce the needed energy.  Here are some important tips for healthy
diabetes diet:

* Whole-grain - eating whole-grain foods such as wheat breads, wheat rice, and wheat pasta help you to decrease the amount of carbohydrates in your diet. (Carbohydrates turn to sugar in your body.)
* Fresh fruits and vegetables - any healthy diet should include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
* Omega-3 fatty acids - eating foods such as cold-water fish that are high in Omega-3 fatty acids helps to provide your body with ‘good’ fats.
* Carbohydrates - carbohydrates are needed to help your body produce energy. But if your body is not producing insulin correctly, you will need to decrease the amounts of carbohydrates in your diet.
* Sweets - desserts with a high content of sugar or fructose corn syryp should be limited or eliminated from your diet. You can get natural sugars by eating fresh fruits.  Artificial sweeteners are not good for you either and should always be used
in moderation.
* Alcohol - alcohol consumption should be decreased or avoided.

Diabetes Natural Cures

Many physicians will prescribe medications to help you control the symptoms of diabetes. Before you begin a treatment with medication, you should discuss with your physician the side effects of the medication, as well as any interactions with other drugs or food. For those who do not wish to risk the side effects of medication, there are some popular diabetes natural cures:

* Ginseng - has been shown to help control blood sugar levels
* Chromium - helps the body’s cells properly respond to insulin
* Magnesium - can help regulate blood sugar levels. Magnesium can be found naturally in foods such as green leafy vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds. Low magnesium levels can worsen the symptoms of diabetes.
* Cinnamon - can help to control blood glucose levels.
* Zinc - helps in the production and storage of insulin. Zinc can be found naturally in foods such as oysters, ginger root, pecans, egg yolk, beef liver, sardines, almonds, and chicken.
* Bitter melon - helps to increase the number of beta cells, the cells that produce insulin.
* Indian Kino - this herb helps to regenerate beta cells
* Gymnema Sylvestre - helps the pancreas to produce insulin and help insulin to lower blood sugar levels
* Indian Gooseberry - helps to stimulate the pancreas causing the pancreas to produce more insulin

These are some of the many diabetes natural cures that have been shown to be effective in preventing and controlling the symptoms of diabetes. The most effective cure or treatment of diabetes is eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly.

Bottled vs Tap Water

bottled water

We see it regularly, someone looking the picture of health clutching their bottled water, heading to the Gym in a lively manner. So, is tap water cleaner than bottled water sold at stores? This is a good question, my answer may shock you.

The bottled water industry began around 30 years ago initially targeting the health and fitness industry. Huge advertising campaigns have been successful in turning this business into a highly profitable multi billion dollar industry. Advertising has lead us to perceive that bottled water is sourced from the most pure mountain and underground springs therefore being much healthier and better tasting than tap water.

Think for a moment about the environmental impact on the billions of plastic bottles produced. Oil and natural gas is used to produce plastic bottles. The production process is dangerous due to harmful emissions that affect the environment and human health.

So, is tap water cleaner than bottled water sold at stores? The Natural Resources Defence Council (NRDC) report has stated the following: “Unless the water is transported across state lines, there are no federal regulations that govern its quality!”

The reality is that there are very few regulations controlling the quality of bottled water and it is no cleaner than tap water. There is nothing to stop a company pouring tap water into plastic bottles, putting a label on it and charging any amount of money that they choose.

Actually, the FDA states that tap water must meet certain standards for particular cancerous causing chemicals such as phthalate which is a chemical that can be leeched from plastic and plastic bottles. Bottled water is exempt from this regulation. Does not sound right, does it?

Now that you know this can you help improve the situation by recycling your plastic water bottles? Could you reduce your consumption of these and re use the bottles?

Another solution is for you to do some research of your local area and buy your water locally. A much cheaper alternative is to own water purifiers for your taps which would provide you with the convenience of fresh, clean , quality water on demand.

The answer to your question, is tap water cleaner than bottled water sold at stores is a resounding NO! I hope that this article encourages you to do your own research on this subject. There is more information on my website if you would like to take a look.
